worst job - round 2

  1. Emily, I love your integrative piece "I Kill Trees In the Name of Brochures." All your visual elements are carefully aligned. The colors are very calming. I particularly found interesting was how you used the mountain's shape when photographing the paper stack. I know this was a design you had done weeks ago, but I still very effective and captures my eyes every time I scroll down. Great work.

  2. The text for the first piece is way more effective. It also adds a humor to the piece making it seem like brochures are such a necessity but paired with the image of the mountain of trees is ironic. So good going!

Your deconstructive piece is really successful as well. I can see so many aspects of a copy/paper job and how it would seriously suck. All of the text and type are well thought out and you have a good sense of composition with your textured background which is really good and your text.

And for your third piece, bravo with your typography. Last quarter was obviously good for you (type class with Mark). I also like that the hole punches are not aligned perfectly - sets into this idea of "I don't care anymore" after hole punching so many papers.

  3. Loving your deconstructive and geometric designs! (I like the integrative as well..but feel the other two are stronger) Your deconstructive image is indeed captivating, and the longer I look at it the more details I discover. It in no way looks thrown together, and instead your concept is thoughtfully broken down into seperate parts which all work together beautifully. The use of the staples as well as the physical ink washes is great-- always a fan of integrating found objects into digital design work! :)

  4. I find all your pieces to be very effective, but I like your geometric design the most. I think it's the most attractive design off the bat, I continue to look at it. I think the size of it at the vertical layout fits very nicely also.
